    Hi truemate,

See if I can assist you.

Have you run sfc /scannow from Administrative CMD?
If not please do and if if found errors and could not fix them please run it again a couple times.

After you run the below sfcfix.exe report if sfc /scannow found and fixed errors or not when you upload the SFCFix log with your next post please.

Please download SFCFix.exe, place on your desktop and run it.

Please post log that will be on your desktop and open in notepad.

In my opinion, still would be a good idea to run SFCFix.exe. You may have additional issues. Your choice.
However, glad to hear your update issue has been resolved.
Backup your computer regularly, preferably to an external hard drive. The are becoming cheaper ever day.
Please read the blue text in my footer.
    Happy Computing!
