What updates are good to have? (offline computer)

    Hi

Now that EOL has occurred and I don't have extended support for security updates, I will have my win7 computers internet offline. (I will have them in my network, but blocked for internet access in the hardware firewall)

What fix/win7software updates are extra good to keep/install after a new installation?
Since my three win7 computers not going to have internet access, so I'm going skip all security updates to maximize performance and keep the installation small.

    Thanks for answers in advance.

    1)
Install Service Pack 1 as this is usually necessary for a whole host of other updates.

Install Windows 7 Convenience rollup as this acts as a second service pack.

Install .NET framework updates as I feel these make the Operating System more responsive.

    2)
Alternatively, do not install any update until your computer hits a problem. When (or "if") your computer hits a problem, then diagnose the issue and install the appropriate hotfix.

    thanks for the tip
I was thinking about them service packs, but they contain so many unnecessary security updates, so I thought I just install the absolutely necessary and good ones.
I have some vague memory that there were some updates that fixed some memory leak and something with aero. Then some symbol updates. but I don't remember which ones.

Maybe I just have to take some time and sit down and read through all the thousands of updates and see what they do
I just wanted to take a little chance and see if any of you had a some ideas of which ones were extra good to have. It saves some time, so to speak.

Hello Marie SWE, hope these links save you some time:
List of Memory leaks related hotfixes post SP1 for Windows 7 SP1 and Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 | TechNet Wiki
List of Fonts that shipped with Windows 7 and their latest version numbers | Microsoft docs

The second link does not contain the Update number, so you have to check the fonts that you are using and compare with the fonts in the list. If the version numbers of the two sources are different, then obviously the font has been updated at some point in time, so you can then search web for the relevant font update.

the first link was perfect. Just what I was looking for.

Perhaps I should make a new KB list like the one I made in another thread with "updates to be aware of", but this time with "updates good to have on a offline computer"
