Thanks for the links. Had to drag out the install disk to check holograms, etc. - all passed.

Tried the Validate Windows button - just showed a screen that said "Validation for Windows 7" - nothing else.

I'll try a different path and re-install WGA.

OK, found a problem with the Validate link - I use Firefox and didn't have a plugin...back soon.

OK, it's a bug.

Loaded and ran MSGA Diag tool - says GENUINE and gave me my licensing info.

I was also reading about a WGA reliability study - not good..."According to an editorial on the arstechnica.com technology website, WGA reported around 22% of 500 million Windows computers as failing the test; of these less than 0.5% were due to pirate software, with the balance (over 20%, or 90% of all positives) related to non piracy issues."

MS thinks that one of my PCs is running W7 that's not genuine. It is genuine - at least I bought it from Amazon and paid 141 for it so that - to me - means it's genuine. It may not be but neither Amazon nor MS will take any responsibility for it not being genuine so I've given up with them both. I...
