Can i install Win11 in multiboot with my existent Win7 ?

    hi,

i have a win7 computer,, it is pretty powerful and suit me fine :
    OS
    windows 7 x64 pro french

    Computer type
    PC/Desktop

    CPU
    i7-980x

    Motherboard
    asus p6t

    Memory
    12GB

    Graphics Card(s)
    quadro K2000 DVI

    Sound Card
    soundblaster titatium

    Monitor(s) Displays
    dell ultrasharp 22 inches

    Screen Resolution
    1920x1080

....but i need to install Win11 to use recent software.
I read somewhere there was also some hardware min-requierement, but i don't know of i pass it.
I have another disk with 40GB of free space, this disk is already in the computer (letter drive A: whereas Win7 is on the C: drive).

i plan to purchase the full Win11 pro licence but can i install Win11 and have multiboot and keep my Win7?

    thank you for advice.

Its possible but if your 7 isnt uefi you will have a problem as 11 requires uefi secure boot tpm so if you install 7 wont boot full details https://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/wind...dvlocymhfpz600

The Intel Core i7-980X processor was released in 2010 and supports the use of DDR3 RAM.

The ASUS P6T motherboard was released in 2008 and supports a maximum of 24 GB(4 GB x 6) of DDR3 RAM.

That hardware is too old to install and use Windows 11.

That is a 1st gen i7, the minimum Windows 11 requirement for Intel CPUs is an 8th gen processor. Windows 11 also requires TPM 2.0. There are however ways to bypass the hardware checks and install Windows 11 on unsupported hardware. I have W11 running well on a legacy bios laptop with an MBR drive, no TPM 2.0, and a 1st gen i5-520M.

However, why go to all that bother? Windows 10 should also be able to run your software, and that has no such hardware requirements. There is no difference between a Windows 11 key and a Windows 10 key. Any Windows 10/11 key is valid for Windows 10 and 11, it will activate either of them.
