7057 "this copy of windows is not genuine"

    Hello all

I'm usin the 7057 Build since a few days but i can't remove this damn watermark in the lower right corner. i've tried a lot of patches, the orbit pluspatch, the only watermark remover, timernuke, the new wga crack 1.9.9.1, renaming and deleting of all the user32.dll/mui's in 5 different folders, deleting all the slui.exe/mui etc... but nothing works. after 3hours on-time i get this fu*kin messege. Please guys help me, don't delete this post or something else.

I giv a **** about this pop-ups @ opening notepad, paint etc - i didn't even use this progs but the watermark after excectly 3 hours on the desktop sucks.

    Zanks tu all of u.

Hello Shortone2, and welcome to Seven Forums.

Using such programs usually come with some form of side effect. You might see if running a sfc /scannow command may be able to fix it. If not, then you can do a repair install.

    Hope this helps,
    Shawn

u don't have such problems? how did u do that? after a fresh installation of x64 build 7057 i used the pluspatch 10.0.1 from orbit30 (my win7 copy was in a bundle with that), removing watermarks and activation works (windows says "activated") but 3 hours later i get the "this copy is blabla.." notification @ the bottom and since that i tried all the things i could find at many forums etc and still the same. doin a repair or the scannow command seems not be able to help with my problems or i'm wrong?

and thanks for the welcome :)

sorry 4 the worst english - i'm german.... we don't know it better ;-)

The sfc command may be able to, but if not, then the repair install should.

Do NOT use the patchs, its pointless 7057 expires in 2010, whats the point?

Besides that you are trusting somebody else to edit your system files, which i personally have issues with.

And then they wonder why their os has the problems that none of us seem to get. Stay away from such gimmicks and you will have a trouble free windows 7. I do not have a single problem with build 7057 and to tell you the truth I never notice the mark.

Not sure what you are doing on your computer but the only time you ever see the watermark is when you are showing the entire desktop.

Not sure about you but when I'm using a computer I'm actually running stuff on it -- even if it's boring apps like WORD or EXCEL or EMAIL.

Unless you like running apps in small "Windowed" mode you'll never see the watermark once you've booted up and start running applications.

There's many more other issues that are a lot more important -- I can't see the point of removing the watermark --it'll expire anyway in Mar 2010.

Everybody including One Man and his dog knows Windows 7 is Beta testing.

Why you want to "poodlefake" something which will expire soon anyway seems a bit of a waste of the "Grey Matter".

Now fiddling around with other aspects ..... "This is left as an exercise to our Readers" -- as the old Maths textbooks used to say would be a FAR more useful exercise.

    Cheers

On my laptop i have a widescreen so often have my browser in a slightly smaller window showing my clock,cpu/ram and other gadgets on the right :)

I also do the same with most apps apart from photoshop, phpdesigner or other apps where i need max view.

    Hi Win7,

Why not move one of your gadgets so that it covers the watermark - It's a free and safe way to "remove the watermark", (All credit to Chappy ), another way is to choose a Wallpaper that is "Busy" in the bottom right corner so the text is lost
