Windows 7 Telephone Activation - Fails

I have a Family Three Pack License and activated all three within the last couple of months with no problem.

I replaced the motherboard and processor in one machine and of course Windows required activation.

Online activation fails as expected and when I go through the Telephone Activation System it fails as well.

My problem is and has been since yesterday the system does not transfer me to an activation specialist to explain the situation. The system says they are unable to process my call and to call back later.

    Anyone else having this problem?

Here is a list of worldwide numbers. Some even have local numbers. I would call trying both (if your area has two). Call during off hours. Late at night or early morning may be best. Your problem seems to be unique. You may be calling from a high call area and not enough suport.

Please let us know how this works out.

Normally the robocall deactivates the license on the old machine and activates it on the new one.

But since the same key is used for 3 computers (isn't it?) in the 3-pack, I have wondered how they would know which license to deactivate during the robocall.

Thus it may likely require a person to handle it, so perhaps this might also be the reason they have stopped selling 3-packs.

What a difference calling a different number makes. I was calling 888-725-1047 as specified by the Telephone Activation screen. It would not ever allow me to get to a person.

Since I have the Family Three Pack it evidently qualifies as a ' Volume License ' and therefore calling 716-871-2781 (or probably 888-352-7140) which is the Volume License Center for United States worked.

I was almost immediately transferred to a person by the automated system. Very nice guy who took my information from the activation screen, verified it and gave me the new activation information to activate my third license.

    Thanks guys.
