    Windows Not Genuine

Hmm, so I had Windows 7 Ultimate installed (cleaned installation) everything was working fine up to right now, I install Feb 23rd updates, and all of a sudden it's saying my copy of Windows isn't genuine, it's not even letting me activate, there's the serial number in there and everything, keep getting an error...

hmm..something to do with the updates from today?

Let us know how you get on with this controversial update, and how easy or hard it is to get your Genuine Windows 7 reactivated should it be flagged by W.A.T. Any chance you could post a few screen shots too?

    Watching this thread with interest.

No clue what to do, I tried uninstalling the updates, nothing, I tried patching the problem with a few help from Google nothing. Everything was working fine for about a month or so with Windows 7 prior to Feb 23rds updates....no clue what to do except a fresh install? Any help?

The copy of Windows 7 was an OEM version from Dell when I bought my previous comp for my mom they gave her the disk free in Jan, I used it on my comp and did a fresh install and I thought everything was fine..

After I did the updates on Feb 23rd, 2 HOURS after I restarted my computer, I got the black screen saying Windows isn't Genuine....

    HELP PLEASE!

Doesn't work, when I follow the instructions the only thing I see that pops up is Go Online & Resolve Now - when I click that, it gives me an error saying something about programs...doesn't give me an option to find the # to call...

You could be right about the updates, I just received the update issued byMicrosoft that is to be used to verify the validity of your OS. Another innovation, that will be a real pain.

When I called Microsoft the Activate Department had no clue with the error code I was getting when I tried activating it, they kept me on hold and was transferring me to Customer Service to resolve the issue...couldn't wait on the phone any longer, gtg to work, gonna try this again later on tonight...not impressed at all with this issue
