How do you think they blocked your Gen. Key if it was sealed inside on the back of the book ????
I called Microsoft about the problem, guy asked me for Genuine Key, I gave it to him and the next thing I know when I go to website to trouble shoot. Comes up as blocked, and the guy on the phone kept insisting that I download the software and that the genuine key was pirated. I'll call again tomorrow and try to talk to Bill Gates.

** okay it said the hologram is not suppose to be sticker and I just tried it and sure it enough it peeled off, hmm; Now curious if that fake how was sealed so airtight and packaged like Microsoft. That is so weird. grr. Hope I get my money back $164 is a lot to lose.
There's some clever people doing some creative stuff out there, I bought a 32 gb flash drive off ebay that was packaged perfectly labeled exactly like a genuine data traveler, anyway long story short after calling kingston support who were actually very helpful I found that mine was missing a set of numbers that they could track.
It was garbage, I keep it close so I don't fall for that again.
Hopefully paypal can get you your money back.

Good thing I still have Win XP but I am too lazy to do a fresh install.; So, I guess I'll stare at the black screen of death until it hopefully gets resolved. Thanks for the extra help. Learned something new about the CDs.

Yeah a typical blonde being a sucker ..wonder if it's possible that maybe the hologram at the store bought versions also peels off? Hmm, wonder if someone would test that out for me. Maybe Microsoft forgot to put it on the CD and used a holographic sticker as placement.

Sure looks good in your pictures, Hope you get it sorted out.
Personally I wouldn't buy software on ebay, but that's me.
Ditto, unless I knew the seller personally.

"This copy of Windows is not genuine" BUT IT IS!(Part2)

Okay, so after the events of this thread

I'm getting the same problem again of my totally legitimate copy of Windows 7 telling me it isn't (Build 7600). I've had to re-validate my copy no less than three times now... what gives? What the hell does Microsoft want from me!? I could have stolen Windows and had it working better by now!

Call Microsoft tech support so that they can get this fixed. If its happening again and again, there's nothing that you can do on your own. So call them and let them know that you have paid for Win7.

I called them the first time I got it activated, and supposedly gotten it "sorted out." Of course, since I work nights, they never have anyone available who can help me when I'm both awake and not at work. They never respond to my e-mails and there's no other possible way to contact them. I'm about to start advocating piracy just because it will put their laughably incompetent programmers out starving on the streets.
