Thanks!
What a simple fix to such an aggravating problem....53 updates later, I am back in business. Thank you Sppedicut
Error 80072EE2
Post 40 works for me too, but doesn't allow Windows Update to do auto updates, which I prefer.
I created and zipped a Wireshark file. Perhaps it could shed some light on this issue?
The discussion and instructions, specifically, Scott Horvath's, found at: you recieve updates managed by your system administrator on home machine completely corrected this problem for me.
In short delete the Regkey:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\WindowsUpdate
Many thanks Jacee your post #37 fixed it for me.
After a SSD crash and system recovery from windows image I was getting Error 80072EE2 from windows update.
All other Microsoft fixes didn't work.
Cheers
Here's what worked on my Zenbook:
Open regedit and drill down to this key:
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Policies\Windows\Windows Update
Delete the key.
Reboot
Problem solved.
