    infected pcs barred from getting security updates


    People infected with ROOTKIT called Alureon will unable to receive / install Microsoft's latest security updates

    the software giant took preventative action because similar updates issued in February caused computers the repeatedly crash

Hi,i have BitDefender Total security installed on my laptop, is it necessary to install security updates while BitDefender block all kind of malewares and it's firewall block any internet attack and why ? thanks.
