    Taskbar update notifications

    Hello,
In the windows 7 task bar in the lower right hand corner, The action center says I have one message. When I open it there is no message. I do have updates set to let me choose. Could it be it's nagging me to use automatic updates? I have turned off these messages. Will I still get messages when I get updates to install? Thanks,
    John

I think you will still get the upgrade messages.

But, is that why I'm getting the message in the first place? Can't find any other reason. Action center now says windows update currently not monitored.

It's normal I think -- even if you refuse to install the updates, as I sometimes do, it will still remind you periodically - even if there are no new updates available.

I have windows updates set for me to choose before downloading and installing and it always gives you a message saying " change windows update settings ". it still gives popups saying there are new updates available for downloading .
