    Windows Update Downloads

    Hello Everyone,

I had my W.7 home premium OS set to automatic download and for my choice to install or not. This has failed. At shutdown yesterday, it automatically installed 4 downloaded updates.
One of these was Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool , KB 890830 May 2010.

I have searched for it's location but my OS will not identify it and I am not able to discover the location in my computer.
I have checked Windows, and Users, and Downloads and Search, all to no avail.
Can anyone direct me to a way to locate this - or for that matter - any way to discover where the downloads were downloaded to?
I can discover the name of the downloads but not where they have been stored.
I have since changed the method, and now should be informed about the downloads and whether I wish to download them or not.

Thanks in advance for any advice,

    ColinX

location of windows update downloads is: C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\Download

Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool is a microsoft tool that runs a single time after it's downloaded and checks / remove specific prevalent malicious software, so you can't find it anywhere on your pc

here you will find all the info u need about it: KB890830

If you simply want to run it manually, enter "mrt" in the Start Menu's search window and select it.
