    Activation w/26 days left

I have 26 days left on my trial period. However, I get as pop up requesting that I activate every morning. Should I do anything?

The easiest thing would be to activate it :)

If the activation reminder is ignored and Windows 7 continues to be not activated, the “Activate Now” message will be presented daily until the 27th day. After 27 days, the message will pop up every four hours. On the 30th day, the frequency of the message will increase to once every 60 minutes.

If Windows 7 is not activated within the grace period, a bubble message will pop up every 60 minutes. Desktop will be set to plain black background (with auto reset every hour even to detect any change in background wallpaper) with persistent desktop notification that Windows is non-genuine. Reminder to activate will also be displayed upon logging on.

BTW, what prevents you from activating?

I'm waiting on MSFT to contact me because I sent the media back while I could get a refund. However, I made a copy of the disk, which I am using now. When MSFT contacts me I will purchase new media again and then change the product key in my existing W7 to the one that comes with the new media. I am not trying to pull a fast one. Just want to continue operating this one until I purchase the new media. Had originally thought that the media might be bad and wanted to act within the 30 day money back. Finally found out the media was OK. It was an incompatible MoBo that caused all the problems with installation

No need to explain, I remember your case, or rather cases. FYI, you can extend the trial period of win7 LEGALLY upto 120 days.
