    License transfer

    Hi everyone,

I just bought a used laptop off of eBay for slightly higher price than normal because it comes with Windows 7 Ultimate and Office 2007 Ultimate as well. I was wondering how can I transfer the registration of the operating system and Office to my name?

The Windows Ultimate disk looks genuine but it is the students edition with the registration key. Fortunately, I'm a student too as I went back to college a few months ago.

    Thank you,

I am not sure that you can. To be certain you should contact Microsoft directly.

Thank you. I'm not sure how to contact Microsoft. I search through their help pages and got directed to their online solutions; further search brought me to their forums, similar to this one. Of course the software I'm using is activated and is working fine on the hardware it was activated on.

    Thanks,

Cool, thank you. Luckily the product is registered to the name of the company who made the laptop "Asus", which is also the name of the admin account. Had it been someone else, I would have attempt to change it.

    Cheers,
