Windows 7

Well here are the problems, the desktop changes when i set a new image but it wont change the way it is shown(fit, stretch, center, etc.) Some programs do not work on start-up like Sticky Notes, Dell Dock. Internet Expolrer wont work corrrectly if i dont run as administrrator, which i am, so I set it to start as administrator but it pprompts me everytime i start it, i was thinking about it and it might be a good thing if its keeping my computer safe but it is annoying. Google Talk says username and p.w do not match then when i enter the password it prommpts me with an error and it need to shut down. People near me doesnt start neither(I dont rreally care about tha but it might explain why it's acting this way.) I scanned with forefront security with no viruses showing up. Microsoft Application virtualization 4.5 sp2 wont install. Everything was working great. I dont want to blame it on the update since all of this started happening after an update. I scanned for spyuware using ad aware free. Im tempted to install MacOSX on this lappy but its illegal! And i might get even more problems, but im tempted lol. P and TY in advance. I tried doing a google search found some forums with other users having similar problems but nothing worked. System restore is the last and most avoidable option i know of. But if i have to do it then so be it.

Try uninstalling the suspect update and see if the problem goes away. If that doesnt work, I would say system restore is the best option provided you have a restore point from a time before the problems appeared.

Did you use some kind of customized dvd to install win7?

hi and ty for replying. How would i uninstall the update? how can i find it?
Umm no, it wasnt customized it came with the laptop. Uh one little thing that i thought was strange, when i disconnected a projector from the laptop the background changed from stretch to fill. But i still cant change it from where it is, event though it did change once after i removed the projector. Weird

Go to Control Panel-->Programs and Features. In the left pane, click on "View Installed Updates". Now identify the suspect update by number or install date, highlight it, then click Uninstall.

I figured it out, problem solved! It was all UAC.... Its weird bcos i had the same settings and everything worked well before. What i did was lower the notification level down. Now i feel unsecured. If only ther was a way to let UAC know i approve of those progrmas. Google talk works, desktop works, people near me, dell dock, everything is back to normal. Now i need to find a way to put all of these programs in somekind of list to let UAC know they are safe. ANy suggestions would be great. TY for your time. :)

1) You can create an elevated program shortcut for each of those apps. That'll get rid of the UAC prompt for them. See this tutorial.
