    Kb 977165

Anyone have trouble with today's update ? KB977165.
It seemed to download and install OK but I then started to get a black screen prior to my desktop background loading - never happened before - always instantaneous.
I uninstalled the update and now back as before.
    Thanks.

take a quick gander at KB980966

How to determine whether a computer is compatible with security update 977165

and see if that helps you at all. KB977165 was related to an issue with the kernel that could be compromised and allow elevation of privileges. If your desktop appears normally when Windows is done loading, it may just be a slight incompatibility with your setup.

I just download and installed it. When my PC did a reboot, my Desktop was completely EMPTY. I got scared for a moment. (LOL)

Then I just Right click on my Desktop>View>Show Desktop Items.

    Problem solved!
