    Win 7 64 Updates & Hosed Network

Does anyone else have their internet access hosed after installing Windows Updates? It happens so regularly here that I often postpone installing them until I know I'll have time to deal with it. At a minimum, I have to shut down my system, cable modem, cat5 router and gigaswitch, plug them back in one at a time, restart the system and hope it works (this, along with disabling and re-enabling the local connection). Often, I have to do it twice. Other times, like today, I restored an image predating the updates install. This is really becoming tedious and has spanned a few different machines. Any info appreciated.

    Thanks,
    James

Edit: Also, included in this batch of updates was an Outlook Social Connector update. Why would this be listed as an "Important Update"?

What do you mean by hosed? Completely depleted or what?

My title was a bit of exaggeration...what gets 'hosed' is my internet connection, which is routed from cable modem-->Router-->Network Switch. It doesn't happen every time, but at least 50% of the time when there is an update for 64 bit windows.

Often, it can be corrected by resetting all components involved, but sometimes, I have to restore an image and hide the update(s).
