I don't have a homegroup active on the network.
I manually installed the MS certificate and the OS didn't seem to object - I'll see what happens. Unfortunately I cannot correlate the CAPI2 error with any specific activity.

The one common fact here, is that the problem just started, forn most with the problem. Something that MS has done, must be the cause. My suggestion, just wait a bit and MS will have something to say. The error does not seem to cause any problems.

I agree with what Richard says above. - "The error doesn't seem to cause problems."

Here the error continues to appear in my Event Viewer Log [Vista Ultimate 64-bit] after almost two years. The laptop continues to run well & has never had any problems.
This Event Viewer error no longer concerns me.

Suggest you keep yours under observation to see if / when it is corrected by MS.

I was investigating the certificate in question, and it seems I have found the date when this error will go away.

CAPI2 event ID 4107 not resolved
Can anyone advise on the status of this error. I know lots of people have been getting it since around 11 July. It doesn't appear to affect the performance of my PC but the error is persistent. Am I right in assuming it's an MS issue and they will eventually fix it?
