    Windows 7 SP1 image/disc...

This question is for anybody who actually knows. (I'm sorry if someone else may have already asked but i am too lazy to search through the forums it's bothersome enough just logging in lol)

Does anyone know if Windows 7 SP1 will be released to DVD/.img/.iso and not just a crappy update downloadable via Windows Update?

Any actual info would be greatly appreciated.

Windows 7 SP1 RTM (Final Version) Will Release in First Half of 2011

Recently Microsoft released Public Beta version of SP1 for Windows 7 and Server 2008 R2.

Since its a Beta version, it'll expire on June 30, 2011. If you are wondering when will the final version of SP1 will release, here is some interesting info for you.

According to "Brandon LeBlanc" @ Windows Team Blog:

If you are an IT Professional interested in testing Windows 7 SP1, you can download the public beta via the Springboard Series on TechNet where you will find the download as well as other key deployment and support tools. For everyone else, Windows 7 SP1 will be available in the first half of 2011 through the usual channels.

You can download SP1 right now, but I would steer clear of it since it's BETA and currently too many bugs to be worked out.

I would imagine you can get it in an .ISO image format, but not via Windows Update, just yet, actually for awhile much longer.

What difference would it make? Whether available as an iso or an msi, you would still need to download it.
If you wish, you can burn either format to disk, then run it on multiple computers.

If you mean an SP1 dvd (like a win7 dvd), nope. But newer disks of win7 will come with sp1 integrated.

You could probably slipstream your own disc and you'd then have an img, otherwise you'll have to wait for retails to be released.

The Technet download linked to in this thread Windows 7 SP1 Public Beta Released will let you download an ISO file for sp1 beta. It has the 7 x86, 7 x64, and 2008 server versions all on the one disk. I didn't bother burning it, I just extracted it and kept the versions I wanted on a thumb drive.
