    Synctoy Vs. Windows Backup & Restore


    We have about 20 workstations that we will be backing up the user's desktop, music, favorites, and program data to a fileserver. I am thinking that synctoy will be best instead of the windows 7 backup/restore utility because you don't have to depend on that utility to be able to access the files/folders. Also, I like to see the files/folders that are backed up onto our fileserver, so I know without a doubt they have been backed up. Sync toy seems to be simple enough to set up to me and schedule to run everyday, since I use it on my own PC.

    I'm just wondering do any of you use synctoy in a work environment to backup user's files/folders ect.? Which do you prefer, synctoy or windows backup utlity?

    Personally, I think SyncToy is the way to go, for the very reasons you mentioned. Basically, its transparent what is happening during the backup.
