    BSOD While playing Ragnarok Online


    Hello! I am very new to this whole shebang so, forgive me if I don't have everything super straight.

    Recently, I downloaded and installed an old game favorite of mine, called Ragnarok Online. Originally made in 2000, the game is advised to run on XP or Vista. I do, however, have many friends whom run this game on Windows 7 just fine.

    After installing this game and allowing it to patch, I entered the game with no problems. During gameplay however, my system began to blue screen whenever I would either
    A: ) Attack a monster
    or B: )Load a new screen

    I have more than one character, and the problem has occurred on 2 out of three of them.

    I have attempted these things to fix this situation:
    A: )Uninstall the game and it's components and Reinstall it/repatch it.
    B: )Clean my Registry
    C: )Change my graphics card (My first one was dying anyway, and I had thought that, that might be the problem.)
    D: )Download the Catalyst system driver for my new Graphics card (It is an ATI Radeon HD 4800)

    None of these things have fixed my problem. I have included the folder of my minidump. My computer would for some reason not allow me to save my Performance Data however, so I do apologize. If you have any ideas for that, please let me know and I will get that to you as well.

    - the original installed OS on the system? <-- (As far as I know.)
    - an OEM or full retail version? <-- I'm not sure, but I do have the product registration number.)
    - OEM = came pre-installed on system
    - Full Retail = you purchased it from retailer

    - What is the age of system (hardware)? <--- atleast 2 years. This PC was given to me.
    - What is the age of OS installation (have you re-installed the OS?) <--- I don't know. I have not reinstalled anything myself.

    Hello,

    The problem is pretty straightforward; the game is simply incompatible with your system. With issues like this, some of your friends may be able to pull the patch off fine, and others may not.

    The only thing you can try, short of installing Vista or XP, is installing and running the game in compatibility mode for Vista. See here: Compatibility Mode

    If that doesn't work, I'm afraid you are out of options.

    Probably unrelated to your issue, but Service Pack 1 should be installed. See here: Learn how to install Windows 7 Service Pack 1 (SP1)
