Random program crashes then multiple BSODs, new MSI laptop
Hi
New member/first post so if I miss anything let me know and Ill do my best to add the info ASAP
Got a new MSI GT780DXR laptop around a month ago, intel i7 CPU, NVIDIA GTX570M VGA/1.5 GB GDDR5, 8GB of RAM, Windows 7 x64
It worked fine for 2-3 weeks and then suddenly developed problems. It always starts by crashing Skype, if I reopen it crashes again after a few minutes normally. Once or twice Skype has instantly crashed on startup.
It then crashes a programme called Holdem Manager 2 (data gathering program for online poker sites that outputs to an on-screen HUD) and again if I try to restart it quickly crashes.
This is normally followed by a BSOD, I have had several different error messages with the BSOD.
If I leave the laptop running without opening skype or holdem manager on startup, I still eventually get the BSOD. Sometimes after a BSOD Skype crashes instantly upon restart as well as some other random things (THX audio etc).
If I run a quick scan with Malware Bytes Anti Malware it comes back fine, same for quick scan with Microsoft Security Essentials however if I do a full scan with either program the laptop BSODs everytime. I can however do a full scan with both programs in safe mode and it doesnt return any problems.
I have also run Intel processor diagnostic scanner and it reported no errors (and didnt induce a BSOD in normal startup mode).
I looked up most of the BSOD error numbers on faultwire and they all mentioned potential Graphics card problems, I suspect this might be the cause however I dont know how the test this to confirm. I re-downloaded and installed the up to date driver for my Graphics card and it didnts make an difference. I have also used system restore to restore back to when I didnt have this problem however I quickly got a BSOD so it didnt help
I downloaded and ran the SF diagnostic tool as per the BSOD posting instructions on here. I will post the zip file for this as fett411.
I then ran driver verifier as per the instructions on here and my laptop BSOD everytime immediately on startup, before it got to the login screen. I turned this back off in safemode, restarted the laptop and then ran SF diagnostic tool again. I will attach the zip file for this as fett411 v2
Thanks in advance for any help. I appreciate it.
