BSOD possible association with Smitfraud-C generic

Hello, this is my first post in this forum so I will try to be as concise as I possibly can. I have been downloading torrents for over a year now, and for the first nine months I did not notice any problems. I have always had virus protection (Norton 360) and it has always worked properly. About two months ago, I began using Youtube to MP3 converters. After downloading about twelve songs, my computer became infected. First I noticed problems in the speed, and then the BSOD started popping up. I tried Restoring my computer, and that worked for a brief amount of time before the Blue screens came back. Once the Blue Screens started popping up, Norton would not open up, so I downloaded Spybot and Avast. Spybot repeatedly tells me that I have a Smitfraud generic C, and it will say that it has removed it, but if I run back to back scans, it shows up again and again. Needless to say, I have become very frustrated with what to do. I tried using the debugging tool I watched a video on Youtube that showed me how to figure out what each Blue Screen meant, but there were so many of them and every time I tried googling the results there was no help available. Myy computer knowledge is limited to the point that I don't know the specs of my Dell laptop and I dont know how to find them. I did download the SF diagnostic tool and was able to attach the zip file. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

Hello BIGballin1991. You are having two specific probler. storport.sys related and netio.sys related.

AMD SATA Controller AHCI 1.2 Device Driveris causing issues there.
    Code:
    fffff880`08a49c40 fffff880`010a06e0Unable to load image \SystemRoot\system32\DRIVERS\amd_sata.sys, Win32 error 0n2
*** WARNING: Unable to verify timestamp for amd_sata.sys
*** ERROR: Module load completed but symbols could not be loaded for amd_sata.sys
     amd_sata+0x16e0
And this drive is very old.
    Code:
    fffff880`0109f000 fffff880`010b6000 amd_sata T (no symbols)
        Loaded symbol image file: amd_sata.sys
        Image path: \SystemRoot\system32\DRIVERS\amd_sata.sys
        Image name: amd_sata.sys
        Timestamp: Fri Jun 17 00:37:44 2011 (4DFA5480)
        CheckSum: 0001BC1D
        ImageSize: 00017000
        Translations: 0000.04b0 0000.04e4 0409.04b0 0409.04e4
Try to update it from http://support.amd.com/us/Pages/AMDSupportHub.aspx. Also re-seat the SATA cables on the motherboard.

Free up the startup. Windows does not need any other program to auto start with it, but the auto start programs often conflicts and causes various problems including BSODs.

    1. Click on the Start button
    2. Type “msconfig (without quotes), click the resulting link. It will open the System Configuration window.
    3. Select the “Startup” tab.
    4. Deselect all items other than the antivirus.
    5. Apply > OK
    6. Accept then restart.

Still not sure what is causing the netio.sys error .... hope after fixing the storport error it will come in front. So let us know the results.

BTW, what antivirus you are using?

Thank you for the quick response. I was unable to update it from the linked page because I cannot find which driver I need. I also disabled all items other than the antivirus programs, (I am using avast! and Spybot) and nothing happened. I am also experiencing another strange error now as well. When windows starts up (in regular mode) it will take me to the home screen with all the icons but then five seconds after, the screen will go black for a second and when the homepage re appears, the colors look extremely contrasted and off. I am now in safe mode trying to update avast! but it doesn't seem to be working either. Any ideas?

Take the chipset driver which includes the AHCI driver that you need.
    AMD Chipset Drivers

Uninstall Avast using Avast Uninstall Utility. Use Microsoft Security Essentials as your antivirus with windows inbuilt firewall, and free MBAM as the on demand scanner.
Download, install and update those, and then run full system scans with both of them, one by one.

If the screen flashes continue to occur, test hardware components.

Test your RAM modules for possible errors.

Run memtest for at least 8 passes, preferably overnight.

Stress test the Graphics Card using Furmark.

Uninstall Spybot . That does more harm to your computer than good .

    Update:
Before reading both of your responses Arc and Vista King, I downloaded PC tools Antivirus and that seemed to help my laptops functionality tremendously. Should I still follow through with getting the AMD chipset driver and download the MBAM and uninstall Spybot?
