Windows 7: BSOD with memory stick

windows 7 64bit build 7600

BSOD with memory stick

more often than not when i plug a memory stick in i get the BSOD crash memory dump then restarts, if i leave the stick in pc boots up fine and i can access the stick.
this has happend with corsair and freecom sticks and with several different micro sd cards with several different card readers so seems like its the USB's rather than the memory sticks.

The RAM your are putting in is faulty or the motherboard slot is dead.

just read through my OP again and it does look like it could be a bit misleading,
the problem is with usb memory stick's and not sticks of memory, ram.
my apologies
