    Can't find audio driver

    Hello everybody.
I have an Asus p5gdc deluxe motherboard. I just installed Windows 7 32 bit, and can't find the high definition audio driver for it.
The driver is shown in the device manager as "This device cannot start. (Code 10)"
I tried ASUSTeK site, CNET, Windows Update, pcidatabase, and a dozen other sites, and can't make it work.

Can anybody tell me where to find it, or how to make it start?

    Thanks in advance. :)

Inodoro Pereyra, welcome to the Seven Forums.

The reason you can't find an audio driver for it is because there isn't one. Your motherboard,

ASUSTeK Computer Inc. - Motherboards - ASUS P5GDC Deluxe

which has the C-media CMI9880 audio on it, and C-Media dropped support for it a long time ago, that is why you can't find one. Unless someone has a better suggestion about the best you can hope for is to use the last XP driver for it (the one from Asus will be as good as any). It may take installing it in compatibility mode,

    Compatibility Mode

    to get it to install.
