Microsoft Fingerprint reader Hello,
Has anyone managed to get Microsofts stand alone fingerprint reader (Digital Persona) to work under windows 7?
I can get it to install and show working ok under device manager. I can also get the fingerprint reader to light up and seem to accept finger print but the recognition software doesn't seem to interpret the read image as when you try and setup under registration wizard it accepts the finger but just shows as incorrect scan.
The driver version I am using is Digital Persona 3.0.0.187.
Really hope there is a solution to this.

I am on a fresh install but nothing although I did upgrade from Windows 7 earlier build to Beta 1.
Everything looks like it is working but cant setup fingerprints as not recognised.

Wish I knew why it is not playing ball. I got a HP Pavillion dv9000 computer, so when i first got it everything was preinstalled and thing OS was Vista Home Premium.
Then i installed Vista Ultimate x64 (fresh install) on my D drive and all the drivers i installed from swsetup on my C drive, or all that i could, then installed Windows 7 Build 6936 (update), and now im installing Build 7000 | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number HP Pavilion dv9700 OS Windows 7 Build 7100 64-bit CPU Intel Core Duo 2.66 Ghz Memory 4GB RAM Graphics Card Nvidia GeForce 8600M GS Screen Resolution 1680x1050 Mouse Creative Fatal1ty professional Internet Speed 2.5MB/s |

The problem with that though is that the HP version of the drivers and software *actually* work - and there is an x64 version as well.
Those of us using the *M$* ones are limited to old Vista drivers (I am betting they are Beta drivers at that) and no x64 support.
I experienced the *exact* same symptoms as stud on a fresh install on build 7000, because before that I was running build 6801 x64, and there are no x64 drivers from M$. When I first installed build 7000 I installed the x86 version to see if the FP reader worked - the software installs, but when you try to register a FP, it acts as if you performed a bad scan - an I tried for 20 minutes straight.
The FP Reader works in Vista 32bit - I checked just in case it was just the reader had gone bad - it hasn't. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number The Beast Model IV OS Windows 7 Ultimate x64 RTM CPU Intel Core2Quad 6600 @ 3321MHz Motherboard eVGA 780i A1 Memory 2 * 2 GB OCZ ReaperX PC28000 @ 500MHz (1000MHz DDR) Graphics Card eVGA nVidia GTX 260 SLI'd w/ eVGA nVidia GTX260 SSC Sound Card Realtek HD Audio ALC888S (onboard) Monitor(s) Displays 2 * Acer X213Wbd Screen Resolution 2 * 1680 x 1050 Keyboard Logitech G15 Keyboard Mouse Logitech MX Revolution '06 PSU OCZ ModXStream 780W Case ThermalTake Armour VA8003BWS Cooling Tuniq Tower 120 LFB, 25cm case, 2x12cm I/O and 2 x 12cm O Hard Drives 2 * Seagate 500 GB 32MB Cache SATA II |

Yep that will be the problem I am having.
There seems to be no way of getting HP drivers to work either.
