I'm trying to load a fresh copy of Windows 7 Home Premium on my Lenovo
but during the installation, I keep getting a pop up window telling me "A required CD/DVD drive driver is missing" I went to Lenovo and downloaded "Firmware update for Optiarc DDU-1671S SATA DVD-ROM
    optiarc_ddu1671s_192.exe
    2.98 MB"
I copied this to a flash drive and using the browse feature at the install screen chose this file, but the installer doesn't recognize the file and just keep's saying "No devise drivers were found" ??? Win 7 won't let me continue with the installation untill I can get this driver loaded. er!
    Any help would be righteous!

That Firmware update is not a driver. Updating the firmware on that drive is the equivalent to updating the BIOS on your motherboard. Windows 7 may be looking for the SATA driver for you motherboards SATA controller/port. Switching your SATA to IDE mode in the BIOS may let you get the install done. Then once windows is installed you can try this. AHCI : Enable in Windows 7 / Vista
That or try installing from a thumb drive.
