CanoScan D1230U Driver for windows 7

Looking through this forum I see many folks in a similar situation. Canon has declined driver support for W7 on the D1230U. They offered a 10% discount on a new model however this one scans large format. My dad likes this scanner as he needs to scan larger that 35mm and am trying to help him.

I was sondering if anyone had come up with a soluton for this model. I tried Vuescan but they don't support the D1230U.

    Any help?

    thanks

    Thnaks but no dice.

    Pebbly,
The 6.1.1c driver I found on Canon's website. That one was a zip file and all attmepts to install show it as a 32-bit driver I am running 64-bit.

The Softpedia version is executable but compatibilty mode complains it too is 32-bit and refuses to run. Unless I am doing something wrong here. Seems I can't run 32-bit code on the 64-bit OS.

I am having a similar problem on Win7 x32 with my Canonscan d1230U. I downloaded the recommended program (S1a7), then ran it to extract the files. There was no setup program to allow me to set up compatibility mode so I went into device manager and said I had a disk, then pointed it at the inf file, but it would not let me proceed. Have I missed something?

Would much appreciate any help anyone can give.

    Thanks

The latest version of Vuescan now supports the scanner - Canon D1230U Scanner Driver and Software. You could give it a try.

    Good luck.

Under what language or OS? Cause when I did the drop down box for Windows 7 and choosing the English language, the site comes up blank for a driver.

This is using the link you provided. Even clicking the "All" tab reveals nothing.

I would then suggest selecting Vista as your OS then run the installer in compatability for Vista :)
