Thank you for your help and efforts =) I just tried to download and install the LAN driver in compatibility mode, but i still can't connect to the internet via ethernet. Do you have any other ideas? =/ sorry for the trouble.

its the nvidia chipset driver you require not the lan driver

OH MY GOD! Thank you so much!! i am now typing this through ETHERNET connection! Thank you so much!! I'm still relatively new to this site, but is there any way for me to like.. give you thumbs up, or +1000000 or something for your great help?

Hi wlarsen, Welcome to the forums, In device manager , right click on the network controller and select "update driver" , win7 will find the driver for you ,if not I will search for one for you here is the link to the drivers http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport...riesId=3632106 they are only for vista ,install them in compat mode Compatibility Mode :)

did you install the vista driver in compat mode ?
