    Safe Mode/Windows 98 Appearance

I have a laptop with Windows 7. I left my laptop on for a few hours with the top closed. When I opened it up, I tried my mouse and it was jerky and moving really slow. I tried to ctrl alt del, but it did not do anything. I ended up having to press the button to turn it off. When it came back on, I chose to open in Safe Mode. Then I restarted. Now, my bottom toolbar looks like it's still in safe mode (windows 98 looking), some of the web pages i visit (hotmail) look weird. I have rebooted, I have checked msconfig and safe mode is not checked. I have pressed f8 and started in safe mode again; shut down (instead of restarted like I did the first time) and it's still this way. I hope you can help.
    Thanks

Right clik on the desktop, go in Personalize. Choose one of the aero themes that come with Windows. Then personalize further if needed...

    Glitch still relevant

I have the same issue as the user above (the Aero themes are all greyed out). Is there a way to fix this?
