    do partions on a harddrive slow down its perforamnce and can they be removed so it just has one with out doing a fresh install

    Yes they can and It doesn't slow down your System that much

    Hopefully these Tutorials will help you

    Partition or Volume - Extend
    Partition or Volume - Shrink

       Warning
    Be careful when Editing Partitions
