Cannot format, MBR, and more errors
So, I have spent the better part of the day trying to figure this out, at least the last 4 hours. My computer just went down two days ago and no reason as to why, yesterday, it spent all day trying to "starting windows" with no success. Today, I decided to look into this error and after clicking "details" I am unsure of the error code, but I do know it said the MBR was corrupt so I google'd MBR corrupt which brought me to this site's tutorial (unsuccessful due to The subsystem needed to support the image type is not present) when I try to run the bootsect off of the DVD file and I also get, Could not open the volume root directory: The parameter is incorrect when trying to do bootrec /fixmbr. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
--Edit Part
When I type "list volume", it only gives me "F:" as the DVD-ROM and nothing else. Could this be my major malfunction? When I try to type just "C:" it gives me the error of, "The request could not be performed because of an I/O device error." and I am really not wanting to play operation with my laptop.
