Win 7 Home Premium Error 0x80096001 after replacing Motherboard & CPU
My 5 yr old old motherboard (HP w/AMD Phenom chip) bit the dust a week ago. Luckily, I had kind of prepared for it by having a comparable one on standby: Gigabyte EP45T-U3DLR W/Intel Core 2 Duo E8600 (Wolfdale). In the end, I can't seem to shake off this error message: 0x80096001. I'm Using Windows 7 Home Premium x64 with 8 gbps ram. This was on the previous machine when I purchased it, so I never received an actual Win 7 disk. I ran System Restore, then grabbed Malwarebytes and ran a scan. It found (and supposedly cleaned) some 28 or so bad guys. Read a few more forums, then got UXStyle Core Beta. It tells me it had to bail prematurely because my theme subsystem (i.e. uxtheme.dll, themeui.dll) had been tampered with. Incidentally, I cannot load a theme. This is when I decided to become a SevenForums guy. Any help out there? Oh, Graphics card is NVidia Geforce GTX 460,
