Maybe your onboard keyboard is disabled in Windows for some unknown reason? Have you tried a USB keyboard with it?

Nope, taking out the battery for ... minutes didn't work ...
Clean Instal unless someone comes up with another option.

BTW, as the laptop came with Win7 installed but no DVD, can I use the OEM password on a version that i download?

Hello Rikk, welcome to Seven Forums!

If you're referring to the 25 digit activation key on the COA sticker attached to the PC, yes you can; though of course you will not get all the free crapware that came preinstalled on the PC.

    Dear Rei Tumult,

To be fully honest, it is my girlfriends PC (don't tell anybody, but i prefer to work on my MacBook :))
I did a clean install in the meantime after i did a back-up of all the data using Hirens Boot CD.

Strangely, the keyboard was only disabled under windows. For the bios settings and when using Hirens Boot CD, it worked fine ...

Could it be that the keyboard was disabled because of:
    a. one of the kids tried to access it be guessed the wrong password for too many times?
    b. illegal windows version?
    c. virus (too much downloading through newsgroups)

Anyway, THX for your quick replies

    Rik

    Dear Bare Foot Kid,

THX for the info, I'll try it when activating the version that i got from bittorrent. I will avoid me the "Daz" methodology.

    THX and take care,

    Rik

Glad I could help; naw, 'bare-foot' means exactly that.
