if you have an oem recovery partition there will be a hotkey to press during boot to activate it, (youll probably have to check that stupid flimsy little troubleshooting guide they give you with it) on my pc it's F10, but i have no idea if thats the norm, please can you post the screenshot gregrocker requested so we can help you further on this

I recognize the DVD contents from a guy who was here just a few days ago who I believe extracted the ISO in the file and ran from his Vista desktop.

What is ISO size? Should be around 2.44 gb if Win7 ISO.

If so, you can burn that ISO to DVD using ImgBurn at 4x speed with Verify. Copy it to desktop and then browse from ImgBurn file icon after selecting "Burn Image to Disk"

or, Use PowerISO trial version to extract the ISO then run Setup.

The key is what really matters.

You can only do Custom Clean Install from XP. Back up your files.

    Clean Install Windows 7

I strongly suggest you make the DVD from the ISO now using ImgBurn since it will be needed for repairs or reinstalls.

It is very valuable to have a clean-copy DVD of Win7 which ISO Sony tried to bury in their unbootable Crapware DVD.

Let us know how it goes.

Are you booting DVD or flash stick installer, or running Setup from XP?

What is the exact size of the ISO?

When you load it into ImgBurn to burn to DVD, check the text at left to see that it says bootable.

I was referring to the ISO file in the screenshot you posted above.

Right click on it to see its exact size. If it is 2.44 gb then it is a clean copy of Win7. Copy it to XP desktop, browse to it from ImgBurn folder icon after selecting "Burn Image file to disk".

If it is not Win7 ISO, Can you post a screenshot of the contents of the 32 bit Win7 folder?
