    sirius internet radio

I've been using (and paying for) Sirius internet radio for several years now....I just got a windows 7 machine (64 bit) and everything seems normal up until the time I select the station, then it says I need to install "windows media player 11". It does nothing when I click the 'install addin' or whatever it says, and the manual install gets me nowhwere.
I opened WMP and cannot find the version (that came with 7) so I don't even know what I have, much less how to get version 11....why doesn't this work??? Obviously it works perfectly on my XP machines.....

Well Windows 7 comes preinstalled with Windows Media Player 12 but sadly, there are still radio streaming sites that require you to use Windows Media Player 11 which is an older version.

If you don't mind the advantages on Windows Media Player 12 over Windows Media Player 11 and if you really need this Sirius Internet Radio service so much because you are paying for it, you might as well consider downgrading to Windows Player 11.

Here is a link on how:

How to Downgrade Windows Media Player 12 to WMP 11 on Windows 7

But note that there are OTHER online radio streaming sites you can use that support Windows Media Player 12. There are tons of them.

OR you can simply wait till their radio streaming service to support Windows Media Player 12 since Windows 7 is getting more popular. You can mail them for comments and support too if possible.

wow, thanks, I think my basic WMP use will allow me to downgrade....I"m sure I'm not even aware of the probably thousands of bells and whistles bundled in 12......

    thanks again!

hopefully this isn't too stupid of a question, but what does it mean by "take ownership of the following files..."

thats strange I have been using WMP12 and the online sirius radio with no problems for over a year

I seem to remember all I had to do was install a WMP ActiveX control plugin and it works without a hitch on Windows 7 Pro x64

maybe something in the WMP12 install got corrupted
