    error 1321

hi... i recently had to do a repair re-install on my toshiba qosmio G50. 32 bit windows 7 ultimate. after completion i noticed my windows office pro plus 2007 was not working. after trying to sort it out i thought the only option was to un install it from control panel then re-install.... i then got this message....error 1321.setup. cannot modify the file C:\program files\common files\microsoft shared\OFFICE12\cultures\OFFICE.ODF. verify that the file exists in your system and you have sufficient permissions to update it ??? . so i went into forums and followed recommended instructions.. i did the microsoft fixit link , but still no go... then tried to delete every file connected to office through the registry editor method biut still no go.... tried a clean boot, then tried installing but again no joy !! anyone know what else i can do, as its doing my head in .... much appreciated.... cheeers

By a clean boot, do you mean disabling most of the services and start-up programs in msconfig, or completely reinstalling Windows 7?

Error message when you try to install a Office 2007 or Office 2010 suite or program: "Error 1321. Setup cannot modify the file <file_name>"

    Hope this helps,

You mentioned that you had to do a repair install of your system, what was the reason for this?

Then the best method for trojans is to completely clean the hard-drive with diskpart and reinstall Windows 7:

Disk - Clean and Clean All with Diskpart Command

    Use Cleanall method.

Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7

Have you followed the two links in my last post (#6), if you were attacked by a trojan, then the best method would be to run:

    Anti-rootkit utility TDSSKiller

The Toshiba Tempro seems to be a form of bloatware which is not needed for your system. Have you created a new Windows 7 Installation DVD from the tutorial in post #6?

If you are having difficulty installing / uninstalling, perhaps this will help:
