No just up to that point making sure you don't leave any blank lines where you have deleted.

Run SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker to replace the files back to default and try again following the steps exactly

Try a system restore using your windows dvd - System Restore option 2 Or file scan at boot - SFC /SCANNOW : Run in Command Prompt at Boot

one thing... this may sound a bit strange but I have been doing a lot of customizations on authui.dll after i did this and want the ease of access center back! Lots of customizations means lots of backups. Should I use the original and lose my customizations or should I leave it and do something else?

    Hello Thomas,

If the authui - backup.dll backup of the authui.dll in step 15 of OPTION ONE was done after the customizations, then you could just need to rename it like in that step to restore it. :)
