You're most welcome. :)
I have tried a "disable auto arrange" solution and it does disable it but it doesn't keep pictures in a "grid". I think what has to happen is to disable SORT BY NAME not necessarily auto arrange. Any thoughts on this??
Hello Dvsb, and welcome to Seven Forums.
Could you post back some screenshots as examples of this?
I'm not sure what you mean. When "Auto Arrange" is disabled, pictures in icon view (like in the example screenshots at the top of the tutorial) are alligned in a grid automatically still. You will not be able to say have a space between two picture icons, or be able to overlap any picture icons. You can still arrange them in any order though regardless of their file name.
Hi Brink....Thanks for this. Please excuse me I am a bit of a techno-peasant. I have undone the disable fix so I wil have to install it again to get screen shots. Not sure how to do this but I will figure it out. Perhaps I need to have the "snap to grid" enabled to make it work like Vista or XP. I'll be back.
Sorry I can't figure out how to post a screen shot. However, what it was doing was leaving gaps whenever I moved a picture to another location within the folder. BUT, I have just figured out how to make everything work properly. To make it work like Vista or XP, I went to "view" and checked auto arrange and align to grid. It now works as it should and my blood pressure has dropped dramatically.

Thank you so much for this !!!
Hi Brink,
I am completely new to Seven and I installed Classic shell to have to former Start menu back. Can you tell me what is the "Computer button" you are talking about so that I can pass the step 8 and merge the files ?
Thanks a lot,
Lekola
Hello Lekola, and welcome to Seven Forums.
I have added a screenshot under step 7 to help. It's in the Start Menu. :)
