Error 80070424 after virus changed Product key. How to repair?
After hours of research, it appears that virus contracted in April 2011 changed my product key, and also left me with the inability to reactivate my real/original product key (the service doesnt exist).
Below is my diagnostic report... I can tell you that the product key shown is not the key under my laptop.
I successfully activated my key when I purchased, so I know the one on my computer is correct. If anyone can tell me what steps I can take to repair and to reactivate my product key, I would be forever in your debt. I would think that windows has proof that I activated my original key???
I have been working at this for almost a year. (needless to say, I could use a Windows update) Thank you.
