Hello LostSoul,
In addition, the tutorial below can help show you how to export (backup) and import (restore) your email messages.
Windows Live Mail - Export and Import Email Messages
Hope this helps,
Shawn
Perhaps we should mention backing up contacts. If you always "sign-in" you will be using the contacts stored at contacts.live.com so that is your back up. If you are not signing in you are using your "not signed-in" contact list which can be exported/imported using .csv or .vcf formats but that will save all contacts in a big list ignoring the way you grouped them into "categories".
Doesn't the Live Main use IMAP server? isn't it always on the server no mater where you have it.
The downloadable email program which is part of the Windows Live Essentials suite is called "Windowl Live Mail". It is a full email program that includes all the protocols of older clients like pop3, imap, nntp and also the newer http used by @live.com email addresses. You can set up many accounts on WLM each with its own individual account protocol, email address, and server settings.
Windows Live Hotmail is a website which displays Microsoft's own email service which can be used either with the WLM client or with your web browser.
ahh that windows live program....
I don't know what it is but that program takes forever to start up. I found it faster to load the web base version up.... ironic isn't it....
