    Windows 7 System recovery disc freezes


    Hi, My buddy has a Dell laptop, running windows 7 Ultimate. He is trying to create a system recovery disc. He gets to 35% and it stops? Should windows firewall be disabled first ?

    I don't think the firewall has much to do with it. See this tutorial here: System Repair Disc - Create

    He can use method 2 to download the ISO and burn it.

    It could be an issue with your CD burner? He can try checking with Dell for updated drivers. Is he seeing any error messages in the process?

    Is your friend trying to create the disks that are available to create from the program provided from the manufacturer as a factory recovery option or the Windows 7 recovery disk that Jonathan_King mentioned above?
