Facebook is keeping me logged in even after i close the browser (Firefox 6.0.2). and yes the option to keep me logged in is NOT selected. Any ideas?

EDIT: just found out that the problem is not Facebook, but Firefox. It also keeps me logged in to my mail accounts, even my school account, and i haven't changed any settings in Firefox.

might be more of a computer problem than firefox, i just closed firefox and opened up the task manager and without a firefox window open the process was still running. any clue into this would be helpful.

Hello theski,

It's due to Facebook's cookie on your system remembering you. To avoid this issue, log out of Facebook instead of just closing the web browser.

The firefox process will take a few moments before actually going away in Task Manager after closing Firefox.

Hope this helps,
Shawn

My question is why would it suddenly start to remember me when it never did it before?

Have firefox delete all cookies on exit (Privacy->custom settings->Accept cookies -> keep until -> firefox closes). Regarding the "why?", we can only speculate. You can try looking at your system restore points and see what was installed that could have changed it. Likely that settings were reset by you accidentally while upgrading versions.

In reply to the why? nothing has been recently installed, my computer has been on and it automatically logged me out when i closed the browser but then later in the day it kept me signed on after i closed the browser.

Relax, it's likely your browser settings got reset to default because your problem is the default behaviour of all browsers. If it makes you feel better, run a scan with malware bytes.
