To automatically set a default IE home page and favorites for all new users that will be later created, it must be done by editing / customizing the default user profile. One way to do this is to do it in Audit Mode with Sysprep tool as told in this tutorial: http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/285983-user-profile-customize-during-installation.html. This method is both supported and recommended by Microsoft.

Notice that default user profile customization with Sysprep can only be done when no other user accounts exist than the Windows built-in administrator. Because of this limitation the customization should be done when installing, prior to creating any user accounts; if done later you need first reboot to Audit Mode and when there, remove all existing user accounts before using the Sysprep command.

It's either editing the default user profile or manually setting the home page for each account.

I am not a fan of manual registry editing when there's an official, supported way to do things in Windows. I do not know if setting a global IE home page is possible by editing the registry, and if yes how it's done.

The Sysprep method I told you in my first post in this thread works with all editions of Windows 7. Users can change default home page and favorites set using this method.

I you do have that registry trick to make as home page but the users themselves can not change it? what option I should omit from the registry?
I cannot answer that question as I told in my previous post.

cvcorv,

If you would read what Kari posted, you will see that it doesn't matter what edition of Windows you have. You can still do it in your Windows 7 Home Premium. ;)

I understand! but you block all users, I just want to set the home page on google for users that are created later. but what I get is a manual registry where you can set the start page for all users, but they can not change it later I had not asked for it!

I had this website to many familly members and friends passed by because I thought good site but now I'm starting to regret it anyway.

your last chance that you now once give me the good solution

I am sorry but WHAT?

- I have read all your posts and answered to your questions, although it is difficult because your English is extremely difficult to understand

- I have not mentioned Group Policies, not a single time

- You really think this arrogance and impolite behavior is correct response when another member has tried politely help you but you are not satisfied with the answers given?

Bye.

If you do what Kari posted, it will allow you to set a default IE home page that can be changed later.

Otherwise, your only option would be to manually set the home page after you create the new account.

Okay sorry! but I'm officially a Dutchman so am very poor in English and the google translate let me down.
It's just very simple I say I want a home page for all new users that are created in the future and that they later just the start page can change. but I get then reply back with a registry key where you can set up the website in but that the user no longer can.

I just set up some simple and that is that the user can adjust everything later

If you follow the instructions told in that tutorial I mentioned in my first post to the letter, it sets a default home page and favorites for Internet Explorer for all future user accounts which will be created. Users can then later change these as they wish.

The instructions in the tutorial are 100% correct and valid. If you want to do this on an existing Windows installation you need to remember what I told earlier, also in my first post:

Notice that default user profile customization with Sysprep can only be done when no other user accounts exist than the Windows built-in administrator. Because of this limitation the customization should be done when installing, prior to creating any user accounts; if done later you need first reboot to Audit Mode and when there, remove all existing user accounts before using the Sysprep command.

If my tutorial is difficult to read and / or understand, you can find official Microsoft instructions in this article: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/973289/en-us

The same official Microsoft support article in Dutch here: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/973289/nl-nl

EDIT: On an existing Windows setup, you can reboot to Audit Mode by giving this command in Command Prompt or the Run dialog (WIN + R):
Code:
%windir%\system32\sysprep\sysprep.exe /audit /reboot
