I'm using Windows 7 (64 bit) and MSIE 11.0.9600, and every time I try to watch a video that's on Kim Komando's website, it shows the page surrounding where the video screen should show, but no black screen to show the video on, and no video.
This also happens on some other websites, like Yahoo's news videos, but I don't recall all of the sites that don't work right.
Strangely enough, YouTube videos work just fine.
Any ideas? Right now, if I want to watch a video and it doesn't work on my desktop, I have to call it up on my cell phone and squint to see it.
Hi,
It would be more helpful and allot easier if you posted a direct link to the site and video your having issues with otherwise we have to do a search and it might be different than what your using
Cheers.
Hi thanks for the additional info,
This particular video was 12 seconds long,
I first watched it with flash disabled no issues to report,
Then closed and enabled flash and went back to the site still no issues, Temp files delete, Run this as administrator and Start the scanner, Shut your machine down after it finishes, http://www.geekstogo.com/forum/files/file/187-tfc-temp-file-cleaner-by-oldtimer/
Now that is really odd - the bear video is actually on YouTube, but You said that you do not have the issue watching videos on YouTube.
Perhaps it's embedded videos. can you view the same video here?
Try playing the same video using the first highlighted link in the source below.
This was full screen when I watched it.
Try playing the same video using the second highlighted link in the source below.
This was the YouTube page for the video that people are used to seeing.
The links are basically the same, but coded in a different manner.

Digging deeper, here is what Youtube provides as the embed code for the video
My thanks to all of your for your valuable assistance.
I was having another issue, too, where MSIE 11 was not moving when I'd click on any link after the 1st page, but fortunately, in solving that issue, it also cured my video problem.
So I finally got to see what Mama Bear did! And all the other videos I've seen on Kim Komando's website come through just great!
Sorry I didn't get back sooner, but after my trip to a convention, I had to undergo gum surgery (not because of the convention!), so I've not felt up to snuff until this afternoon.
I ended up resetting MSIE 11 twice, and now everything seems to be working just fine.
Glad you got it sorted and I'm glad you are feeling better now.
So the solution was to reset IE 11 twice? The issue wasn't resolved after the first reset?
That's odd, but an interesting thing to note - If a member is having IE issues and a reset doesn't cure it, I might ask them to do it twice.
Did you restart IE after the 1st reset?
After the 2nd reset?
Was the machine restarted after either IE reset?
Thank you for returning and posting the resolution you found. Would you mind marking your thread solved?
Oops this is your thread
I would suggest also running these free scanners and posting the scan results for review
Review Jacee’s instructions to run Adwcleaner here post #7,
Ignore the title of the thread, Instant Savings App Screen shot of the download button to use for Adwcleaner
You can use these free tools to see if they find anything,
Manually Update them before running full scans,
Try not to use your computer while the scans are running, (one at a time of course).
Uncheck the box to Activate the Free trial from the final install options,
Also use the Custom scan option not the Threat scan,
Select the drive to scan usually C,
If your really infected check the box to scan for Rootkits = this scan option will take several hours to complete,
Never use your machine while scans are running for best results, http://www.malwarebytes.org/products/malwarebytes_free http://www.superantispyware.com/?tag=SUPERANTISPYWARE
This one is the longest up to 4 hours, the others are only about 45 minutes, http://www.microsoft.com/security/scanner/en-us/default.aspx
Hi all,
Im new here, and I hear this is the best place to get help with my current issue. Recently I installed beta drivers from amd (14.6) and whenever I watch videos on you tube or facebook I get a bluescreen shortly after. It goes so quick that I cant really read what the problem is, but...
I have IE9 on my desktop. Today I went to a site I have used many times (local news website) and the videos would not play. They show the thumbnail but when play is pressed it goes black. No video or audio, nothing.
I checked another local news site site and the videos there would not play. But...
I have installed Deamscene and am looking for ocean & fish scenes and aquarium scenes. I'm concerned about going to sites and downloading a virus along with fish.
Besides the Deamscenes site are there other such "trusted" sites?
