    Random BSOD

    Hi guys,

Having no end of problems with this new build of mine. This is the 3rd time its come back from base, now with the mobo, psu, cpu and ram replaced. Interestingly the same I/O panel for the sound card (which worked fine prior to rma), is not working now. I have triple checked the jumpers to it and everything is properly seated....

The things that remain are the nvidia 9800gt gpu, 2 hard disks (one ssd and one regular sata) and a creative sound card.

All was running fine up to now and I got a random BSOD so i as you can imagine am quite worried right now that i will have to rma the thing again...

In terms of testing I have NOT tried:

    - Testing HDDs individually. No errors or corrupted data on either two according to windows disk checker. It is not physically possible for me to test these on alternative machines but I will try to run each in turn.

    - Testing the GPU and sound card on alternative machines as this is just not possible.

    - Memtested the new ram.

I was hoping this crash dump could point me in the right direction? Thanks in advance:

    My system spec:

    Windows 7 Ultimate x64
    6GB DDR3 Ram (patriot)
    Flaming blade gti mobo
    nvidia 9800gt pcie
    x-fi fatality with i/o panel
1 60gb corsair solid state hdd (sata)
    2tb sata disk

    Thanks for the reply rich!

This is getting more and more odd, the BSOD i mentioned happened at about 23:56 last night, not on the 4th of August.....

The only thing I haven't tried is a full re-format and new install of windows 7, would this be a good idea?

No, According to the report, regardless of date, just uninstall Zone
Alarm, completely using the uninstall tool or use the hot fix. If you continue to get BSOD after the hot fix, remove Zone Alarm, If the BSOD continue, post the new dump report. There is no need for more drastic action at this point.

Well tried uninstalling Zone Alarm and I also did a full re-format of Windows 7 as I wanted to try this just to eliminate any malware/other windows related problems.

Everything appeared to be ok until I installed the Intel LAN Drivers and yet another completely different BSOD. As attached below:

I am so upset by all of this. The unit has already been shipped back twice now since I purchased it back at the start of August I think it is time perhaps to get a refund....

0x0000001A: MEMORY_MANAGEMENTThis memory management error is usually hardware related. If this occurs while installing Windows, also check the Windows system requirements including the amount of RAM and disk space required to load the operating system. If none of the above resolves the problem, see the MSDN article linked above for further steps.

You seem to have expertise with computers, so I submit for your examination everything that I have seen from your dump report

This code indicates memory problems. I would tend to agree, it is not the OS or virus, since you just installed and reformatted, since the last BSOD. I suggest a careful and thorough memory test with memtest.86
If that does not show any errors, the problem is probably related to the Intel drivers. We may need to use an earlier version or just substitue entirely.

    If overclocking restore normal settings
    Download memtest86 and test RAM

Run the upgrade advisor to help discover hardware problems

Uninstall your current Anti Virus and replace with Microsoft Security Essentials.

    How to Find Drivers
search Google for the name of the driver
    - compare the Google results with what's installed on your system to figure out which device/program it belongs to
    - visit the web site of the manufacturer of the hardware/program to get the latest drivers (DON'T use Windows Update or the Update driver function of Device Manager).
    - if there are difficulties in locating them, post back with questions and someone - will help you search Google for the name of the driver
    - compare the Google results with what's installed on your system to figure out which device/program it belongs to
    - - if there are difficulties in locating them, post back with questions and someone will try and help you locate the appropriate program.
    - - The most common drivers are listed on this page: Driver Reference
    - - Driver manufacturer links are on this page: Drivers and Downloads
To remove any left over driver remnants, especially from graphics cards, use driver sweeper
Test your hard drive at the manufacturers website.

After performing all of the above, post back with any new BSOD reports, or indicate that the attempted repairs were successful.
If any links do not work, if clicked, please copy and paste to browser address bar.
Remember that several attempts may be required before we can solve your BSOD problem. These reports are not definitive but merely point the way to a solution.
