(Not random) freezing on ASUS G51Jx w/ Windows Home Premium 64-bit
Hey, first post here.
So, last night a friend of mine invited me to play this little browser game called Gartic (which I've already played many times here) and when I opened the game my computer simply froze. The music turned into a strange noise (like it was repeating the last bit I heard), mouse didn't move and the keyboard had no response (ctrl+alt+del did nothing, even the caps lock light wouldn't turn on). I forced shutdown and tried again (this time on Firefox, the other time I used Chrome), same thing.
At the time I thought it was something between my computer and this specific game, so I didn't care. But today I opened the ultraISO and the same thing happened.
Since in safe mode everything runs nice and it only happens with these specific applications, I think I can rule out hardware problems (or maybe not?), but I still wasn't able to find the problem.
I read 10+ topics of freezing problems only in this forum and, from what I've seen, all of them are random freezing and related to drivers or hardware.
As I wrote the topic I ran a system restore (unfortunately the oldest restore point was from yesterday) that didn't make any difference.
I already updated drivers and BIOS.
Of course, an obvious choice would be just not use ultraISO nor play Gartic anymore, but I'd like to know what's happening with my computer and I'm afraid it could happen with some other more important application.
If there's anything else needed, just tell me and I'll try to provide the info.
If anyone can help I would highly appreciate. Thanks in advance!
