    Endless different BSODs on HP laptop.


    Hey

    Il try to keep this short. English is not my first language so bare with me.

    Trying to fix my GFs 1.5 years old hp laptop to sell it.
    She started complaining about BSODs a year or so ago but i did not pay much attention to it. Besides they did not bother her much. After she started playing Leage of legends and the whine got huge i got her a brand new laptop with a standalong gfx card for xmas.
    Now ive been trying to figure out whats wrong with her old one for a week or more. And i need help.

    This is the model : HP Pavilion g6-1133sa Overview & Specs - Laptops - CNET Reviews
    Has OEM windows 7 home 64 bit.
    Ive seen so many different BSODs now its insane. And i have not even used it that much, just time to time.

    What ive tried to do to fix this : Went back to factory defaults, tried installing different drivers. Went back again since it did not help. Installed win 7 ult thinking maybe the factory installed win is bugged, ( cant be right ) did not help, got a few blue screens even before installing all the drivers. Went back to win 7 home again in the case i have to take it to service. Ran chkdsk, did not say much, 8kb in bad sectors but thats about it.

    Any help is welcome.

    Hi there have had a look through the dumps and they are all over the place they dont all load properly and theres nothing specific in there but its all not so important. If you are seeing blue screen before or during windows install then it is looking like a hardware issue. When installing 7 ultimate did you boot from installation media and do a clean install if not then that would be the thing to try, clear and format HDD then do fresh install if that doesnt work then its not good news im afraid

    Hey!

    No i did not see any bsods during win installs.
    I did a clean wipe ofc before installing win 7 ult. Got bsods when it was installed and i was doing driver installing in windows.
    Since i knew if i take it to service with win 7 ult they would whine about it not having the original OEM win 7 home on it so i went straight back to that.

    OK my apologies i misunderstood your original post

    Its hard to tell which bsod relates to which OS install, going that its over a year old i would assume its out of warranty and as you are getting ready to sell i would just do a clean install of operating system, dont know if your aware but you can download new updated install media (including SP1 update) to use with your current key.
    Provided hardware is ok you should be able to get up and running, i recommend running hardware diagnostics which are bootable so run regardless of computer OS state, try these
    RAM - Test with Memtest86+ try to run overnight for minimum 7-8 passes
    Hard Drive Diagnostic Procedure
    and if they pass you should hopefully be good to reinstall OS to give you a clean base to start troubleshooting from have a read through these tutorials
    Clean Install Windows 7
    Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7
    Clean Install with a Upgrade Windows 7 Version
    if you have external hard drive you can take a backup of existing before you start so you can return to current state if required

    Thank you for the reply!

    I will try the 2 tests you provided, hope they show something.

    Ive done a clean install of windows ultimate, i got bsods 5-10 min after getting windows installed.

    I can ofc try clean reinstall of the oem version, currently ive formated and done a recovery to factory defaults.

    As a last point, i live in the EU so we got a 2 year warranty on things like this, it all so actually came with an extra + 1 year so im covered in that department, its just if i take it to service i say " hey its getting me bsods" i know for a fact they ring me back up in a month and tell me it was a software issue, we did recovery and its not a warranty issue, give us lots of money. Doubt they will even test it, thats just services usually are.

    I know where your coming from they can be a pain but if its under warranty and its your spare may be worth sending off may take a couple trips but if its got probs they should sort it or give you a new one
