USB Port/Drivers
The same happened to me. I upgraded from Windows Vista Home Premium on a Dell Inspiron E1505, 2GB RAM, 1.67GHz Intel Core Duo, ATI Radeon Mobility X1300, 120GB HDD, to Windows 7. Everything went fine until I connected my Sony Reader PRS-505. I've got the Blue Screen of Death that I have not seen since Windows 98. I couldn't read the message since it vanished so quick. My computer has 4 USB ports, two on the [my] right side and the other two on the back. I tried all four and the system crashed all four times. And again, I could read the message. I called Sony and they told me there's a problem with Sony eBook software and they recommended me to upgrade the software, so I did and the problem persisted. I gave up. I did not have this problem under Vista.
Today, I tried to access some files from my 8GB Sandisk U3 Cruzer that I has been using for over 3 years under XP and Vista without a single problem, and guess what: the system crashed!
All these devices have been with me for long time and without a problem until I decided to upgrade the system. and they still work on my HP mini 1000 under Windows XP.
