    Welcome to 7F N8N :) .

A TDR (Timeout Detection Recovery) is not a bugcheck in the true sense in that something
has went terribly wrong in the kernel which forced the machine to crash.

"Display driver xxxxx stopped responding and was recovered"

Timeout Detection & Recovery (TDR) = "Display Driver Stopped Responding and was Recovered" is a useful feature that started in Vista and is also in W7 that allows the OS to try and recover from a video timeout so that the system does not crash to a bluescreen. Symptoms included a screen flash with the TDR message appearing one or more times or the screen blinking out to black. If the system cannot recover it will crash (Stop Error 116 typical). The issue is that the video card is not responding as expected. The solution is in the: why?

There is no one-size-fits-all solution to TDR errors. But the problem is usually found in the local environment (your computer). Finding the cause is a matter of checking every possible cause and uncovering the culprit through a simple process of elimination. By methodically running down a checklist of diagnostic procedures you should be able to find the cause and can correct it.

There are numerous reports of hardware solutions to TDR's. The most common are:

    • Poor Cooling
    • Problems with the power supply
    • Overclocking Issues
    • Bad System memory or incorrect memory timings
    • Defective PC Components

Please roll-back your nVidia drivers to a known stable release

    Install the 314.22 WHQL only.

    • Uninstall All nvidia items in Control Panel > Programs and features
      • 3D Vision Control Driver
      • 3D Vision Driver
      • Graphics Driver
      • HD Audio Driver
      • PhysX
      • nvidia Update

(Are you using nvidia chipset drivers? If so, dont uninstall anything other than those are listed).
    • Now follow Drivers - Clean Left over Files after Uninstalling
    • Boot normally now. Download 314.22 WHQL. While installing, Select Custom (Advanced) install. In the next page, follow this settings:

    Test for thermals and stability:

    • Download HWinfo and post a Screenshot of the summary window, one at idle and another while putting load on the PC using Prime95 for the CPU side and Furmark for the GPU.
      • Before running Prime95 make sure to enable Round-off checking (see 1st post under the tutorial).

Post back with the results :) .

First of all, thanks for helping.

I rolled back the Nvidia driver as you told (haven't tested it yet).

I did those thermal tests with Prime95 (but not the whole 2 hours) and Furmark.

    IDLE

    CPU (after 40minutes with Prime95)

    GPU(after 30m with Furmark

Thanks for the screenshots but I confused HWinfo with a different software and I haven't updated
the request window to capture to be the Sensors window using HWinfo. my bad sorry for the confusion .
Either way we need the Furmark test results as well :) .

    Screenshots

When I did the test (with furmark) today I got a BSoD again, I couldn't screenie it, but I made a logfile with HWinfo with the sensor mode but it is a .csv file.

And I ran the CPU test untill it got kind of stable:

    IDLE

Thanks for the update :) .
I don't know about the GPU at the moment as the values are not listed but the CPU is incredibly HOT!
Nearly reaching 100°C that is not a situation a CPU will last very long under.
With Furmark, did it bug check right away? how long could the GPU take-it?

Before trying Furmark again to verify it bug checks every time and is reproducible,
disable auto restart on system failure and take a picture of the BSOD.

Follow this tutorial and select Disable Automatic Restart on System Failure that way it won't restart
right away and you can snap a picture of the BSOD.

    Upload it here.

       Warning
The Following Steps Will Void Your Warranty!

    Addressing the overheating issue:

    • Make sure you can hear or see the fan working, if it is continue with these steps.

    1. Shut-Down the PC
    2. Unplug from the power brick.
    3. Remove the battery.
    4. Let the PC cool down for as long as needed until its only warm to the touch or not at all.
    5. Buy a can of compressed air.
    6. If you have a cover on the bottom that can be unscrewed, remove it for grater access.
    7. When using the compressed air, use short bursts and DO NOT! use it upside-down!!
    8. First blow into the intake (the grill with the fan) again short bursts.
    9. Next do the same to the exhaust.
    10. If you have access the opposite side of the fan blow through there as well.
    11. Next grab a flashlight and point it inward from the exhaust and look for anything that may be blocking the light from passing through when looking from the intake side (the fan).

    Happy cleaning :)
